The school offers a Stay-and-Play program on Monday through Friday from 12:00-3:00 PM, and on Monday from 9:15-11:45 AM. Children attending Stay-and-Play will bring their own lunch and drink. Monday morning attendees should bring snack, lunch (if attending an afternoon class), and drink. A rest period after lunch is provided.
Stay-and-Play is open to all Coop children. Siblings and friends who are 3 years old may attend if space is available. Every child who attends must have emergency contact information as well as a health form, signed by a doctor, on file at the school.
In order for a child to attend Stay-and-Play, parents must sign the sheet located on the bulletin board by the playground door. Sign-up sheets are posted at the end of Friday’s class, two weeks in advance. Parents can also call school in the morning to see if space is available.
Stay-and-Play costs $22 and is paid for on the day it is used.
Stay-and-Play has permanent slots available. Permanent slots will be given with the following guidelines:
1. Permanent slots will be offered to children currently enrolled at the Coop first.
2. Sign-up begins August 1 and continues until the end of the second week of school. If too many Acton Coop children are signed up for permanent slots on a specific day of the week, then the Director will hold a lottery. Families who do not receive a slot for their requested day will be given a chance to register for another day.
3. If, after Acton Coop children have had a chance to request permanent spots, there is additional space available, these spots will be made available to others in the following order: siblings of currently enrolled children, interim members, and families in the community whose children are not currently enrolled at the Coop.
